Many customers want to know if a single high-frequency welding pipe machine can produce both carbon steel pipes and galvanized pipes. In many cases, the answer is yes. With proper equipment configuration, the same pipe machine can be used to produce pipes of different materials and for different applications.

A high-frequency welding pipe machine welds steel strips into pipes and continuously connects the edges of the pipes using high-frequency welding. When producing carbon steel pipes, the machine can process suitable cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel strips according to the required pipe diameter and wall thickness.

For galvanized pipe production, the basic pipe manufacturing process is the same. The steel strip is uncoiled, joined, formed, and welded before undergoing sizing, straightening, and cutting processes. However, a zinc plating process can be added after welding.

The zinc plating process (zinc plating machine) is used to spray zinc powder onto the weld area. During production, the weld is treated with zinc powder to provide additional protection and help restore the corrosion resistance of the galvanized layer around the weld.

This configuration provides manufacturers with greater production flexibility. When producing carbon steel pipes, the galvanizing process can be omitted; when producing galvanized pipes, the galvanizing system can be started after high-frequency welding.

Therefore, manufacturers do not necessarily need two separate rolling mills for producing carbon steel pipes and galvanized pipes respectively. By adding a galvanizing process after welding, a single high-frequency welding rolling mill can produce both carbon steel pipes and galvanized pipes simultaneously.

The final machine configuration should be selected based on pipe diameter, wall thickness, steel grade, production speed, and the specific requirements of the galvanized pipe. A well-designed production line can help manufacturers reduce equipment investment, increase production flexibility, and efficiently meet the needs of different customers.
